I've only recently found an interest in photography after taking the class last year to satisfy my fine art credit for graduation. However, after the first few weeks in the class, photography went from being just another subject I needed in order to graduate to being a new way for me to look at the world. I never thought of myself as being particularly artistic but looking through the lens of a camera gave me a new perspective on things. I discovered that I did in fact have a creative side. As a photographer, I enjoy presenting images with bold contrast, whether that be in the form of bright colors that catch my eye or in dark blacks and bright whites of a black and white photograph. I try to be unique with the projects I execute, coming up with different ways to come at each project. I've had a great time with this new hobby, passing my free time taking shots of objects I see every day and giving them new light. Even though it can be frustrating when my photos don't turn out the way I would like them to, photography has shown me that with patients, planning, and a unique perspective I can give relatively ordinary things an extraordinary new light. |
